NEW ERA - ATHENS

The culture and lifestyle in Athens is truly unique, and I can honestly say I’ve never been somewhere that champions both creativity and freedom in such equilibrium. I like to feel I made some lifelong friends whilst exploring the musical community around Fade Radio. Having dinner on the last night with the crew, artists and other acquaintances, you’d think we’d known each other for years.

The situation in Athens for artists isn’t easy, something we from London can certainly relate to. The adversity for underground culture has ramped up with a right-leaning government that cares little for the arts and the power of expression. To see what @dennisgr33n and the team @fade.radio are doing for local, independent artists is as crucial as it is inspiring.

The @neweraeurope giving back program not only explores this community, but also leaves behind a legacy, providing funding to this collective. With the money left to Fade, the team plan to run workshops for people that want to explore their love for music.
